Cookie policy

A straight list of every cookie-like storage item this website uses. There are three. No advertising or behavioural trackers.

1. What counts as a cookie here

A cookie is a small piece of text a website can store in your browser. “Cookie-like storage” also covers localStorage and sessionStorage. We treat all three the same way, because the distinction matters to a developer and not to you.

2. What we set

Every storage item this website sets, its purpose and how long it lasts.
NameTypePurposeLifetime
zq-themelocalStorageRemembers whether you chose the light or dark theme, so the site does not flash the wrong one on your next visit. Set only if you use the toggle.Until you clear it
zq-support-mock-v1sessionStorageHolds the demonstration tickets in the support portal. The support backend is not implemented, so the portal keeps its state in this tab. Nothing in it reaches us.Until you close the tab
Session cookieCookieSet by the product console if you are signed in and reach the support portal from it, so the portal can tell who you are. Not set by the marketing site.Until you sign out

3. What we do not set

No Google Analytics, no advertising pixel, no session-recording tool, no heat mapping, no cross-site tracker of any kind. We do not know which pages you personally read.

We do load Inter and JetBrains Mono from Google Fonts, which means your browser makes a request to fonts.gstatic.com that carries your IP address. That is a data transfer we would rather not make, and self-hosting the fonts is on the list of things to fix. We are telling you rather than leaving it out.

4. Why there is no cookie banner

Because none of the three items above requires consent. Two are strictly necessary for a function you asked for, and the third is a preference you set yourself. A banner asking you to consent to something we do not need consent for would be theatre, and the practical effect of such banners is to train people to dismiss the ones that matter.

If we ever add something that does require consent, you will get a real choice with a real reject option, and this page will say so before it happens.

5. How to clear them

In any modern browser: developer tools → Application → Storage → clear site data. Or use a private window, which discards everything when you close it. Clearing zq-theme returns the site to following your operating system's light or dark setting.
