Learning in Academy and checking credentials

Academy helps people learn the platform and understand security tasks in context. Courses are available from the Academy area of the console. Start with material relevant to your role: someone reviewing alerts needs different preparation from someone managing privileged accounts. A course is a learning activity, while an exam and a credential have their own requirements and records. Enrolling on a course does not mean that you have passed an exam.

Find and follow a course

Open Academy with the correct organisation selected. The catalogue shows available courses and your progress. Open a course to see its lessons, read the material and use the lesson controls to record progress. Return to the catalogue to confirm that progress was saved. If a page fails to load, retry once after checking connectivity and retain the error message if it persists. Do not assume that an empty catalogue means your organisation has no training needs.

   Choose a course

   Read its description and choose the course relevant to the work you perform. Use the knowledge base alongside the course when you need instructions for a specific screen.

   Work through the lessons

   Complete each lesson and confirm that its progress changes. Take time to understand the expected outcome of the exercises before applying anything to your organisation’s real accounts or devices.

   Check exam availability

   Open the exam details and read the availability, eligibility, attempt and delivery information shown for that exam. A course being available does not guarantee that every associated exam can be taken immediately.

   Review your credentials

   Open My credentials after completing the required assessment. Check the credential’s status and issue information. A pending attempt, an unfinished exam or completed lessons alone is not an active credential.

Read the exam conditions

The exam screen is the place to check the current attempt and assessment conditions. Follow its instructions about timing and submission. If the catalogue shows an honour-mode notice, understand that this describes that assessment’s supervision; it must not be represented as a proctored examination. Where payment or an entitlement is required, use the available purchase or grant process and wait for the entitlement to appear before starting. Do not infer successful payment from a closed browser window.

Permissions and administration

Learning requires the Academy learning permission. A read-only role may be unable to enrol even when it can view other areas of the platform. Ask an administrator to review your role if you receive a permission message. Academy administration is a separate responsibility: authorised administrators can inspect relevant records and manage the grants or revocations exposed on their administration page. A credential should only be described as active when its record says so.

Recover from an interruption

If your connection drops during an exam, reopen the existing attempt and follow the state shown instead of starting several new attempts. Record the course or exam name, attempt reference, time and visible error when requesting help. Never send answers from a live exam or authentication tokens to support. For an incorrect or revoked credential, ask the Academy administrator to review the record and reason. Keep your own learning plan separate from a credential’s formal status.
