What happens when you pick a plan at sign-up

Sign-up always creates a Free workspace, whatever plan you picked on the form. Core, Protect and Complete are not sold self-serve today — your choice is recorded and we follow up.

You chose a tier on the sign-up form and never saw a card field. That is expected — no self-serve plan ever asks for a card at sign-up — and what your organisation is actually created as is simple: Free, always, regardless of which tier you picked.

The two cases

You picked Free
Your organisation is created on Free, permanently. No time limit, no card, ever.
You picked Core, Protect, Complete or Enterprise
Your organisation is still created on Free. The plan you asked for is recorded as an upgrade intent so a conversation can pick up where you left it, and the sign-up response tells you plainly that self-serve sign-up for that plan is not available yet. Nothing is charged, and nothing is trialled automatically.

What actually happens, in order

  1. You submit the sign-up form with your chosen tier

One request creates your organisation. It is always provisioned on Free, whatever tier you selected.

  2. You land on the sign-in screen with your workspace confirmed

Workspace created — {{organisation}} is ready. Sign in to start using it.

  3. You sign in and see a note if you asked for a paid plan

If you selected Core, Protect, Complete or Enterprise, the console tells you self-serve sign-up for that plan isn't available yet and gives you a way to reach us. Otherwise there is nothing further to do — Free is already switched on.

Why sign-up only ever creates Free today

Free is a real product for a company of up to ten people — identity and access, endpoint protection, Microsoft 365 and Google account-takeover detection, and 14 days of history — so there is something genuinely useful on the other side of sign-up even while paid self-serve checkout is off. Turning paid self-serve signup back on is a configuration change, not a rebuild, and existing Free workspaces are unaffected either way.

What to check if this looks wrong

  • If your workspace is on Free and you expected a paid plan, that is expected right now — Core, Protect, Complete and Enterprise are not self-serve today, whatever the form let you select. Email [email protected] and we will set it up.
  • Read Changing your plan for what happens once a real upgrade is arranged, including the up-to-five-minute delay before it is visible everywhere.

What to do next

  1. If you need a paid plan now, email [email protected] with the plan and headcount.
  2. Read Signing up, and what actually exists afterwards for everything else the sign-up step creates.
  3. Read The plans, and what each one includes for the full detail behind each tier and add-on.
